Ecosystem services (ES) have been developed to
demonstrate and measure the direct or indirect
benefits people receive from ecosystems. According
to the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment report,
Ecosystem Services grouped in 4 main category:
provisioning, regulating, cultural and supporting
services. Provisioning services and cultural services
are services that people benefit directly, regulating
services and supporting services indirectly. In the
study, cultural ecosystem services (cultural diversity,
spiritual and religious values, knowledge systems,
educational values, inspiration, aesthetic values,
social relations, sense of place, cultural heritage
values, recreation and ecotourism) provided by
Historical Çeşnigir Bridge and Canyon, locatedn in
between Karakeçili and Köprüköy in the city of
Kırkkale, were evaluated. The findings may help in
making decisions on spatial planning, recreation and
tourism planning and management based on cultural
ecosystem services.
