Kitchen spaces have evolved alongside humanity and are common environments for all people. They meet daily needs through various functions while reflecting domestic culture. The history of kitchens shows spatial transformation from prehistoric settlements to the present. Design developments indicate that cultural practices emerge as responses to the inhabited environment. Egyptian kitchens are a key example, shaped by the Nile River’s resources and traditional dietary culture. This study examines the spatial transformation of kitchen environments from Ancient Egypt to contemporary Egyptian kitchens. It includes a review of kitchen history and a comparative analysis of traditional and modern Egyptian kitchens in terms of spatial planning, materials, equipment, storage, technology, and socio-cultural features. The analysis is supported by two-dimensional drawings. The study concludes that modern kitchens show technological and spatial change, while some functional and spatial characteristics of Ancient Egyptian kitchen culture are preserved over time.
