Investigation of Micro Housing Practices and Interior Design Criteria in the Context of the Changing Concept of Housing

With the transition to settled life, the concept of housing, which has changed over time, has been shaped in line with the needs of the users. Housing has managed to keep up with the changing conditions of the period in which it was built for the residents. Housing designs, which have been shaped by technological developments, have required the creation of spaces that are related to the environment and meet the needs in a sustainable context, as well as meeting basic needs. The examples highlight the preferability of small living spaces within the context of today's changing conditions. The study examines the process of change and examples of micro-housing, addressing the criteria affecting the design of the interior space such as space organization and functionality, material use and energy conservation. The effect of interior design criteria on the creation of micro-volume space was evaluated in the examples determined in the world and Turkey. It is understood that the rational solutions created contribute to the creation of resource-efficient, nature-friendly living spaces.
