Edatlar (prepositions), bir ismi, zamiri ya da isim öbeğini cümledeki başka bir unsura bağlayan; yer, zaman, yön ve soyut ilişkileri belirten küçük ama etkisi büyük kelimelerdir. YÖKDİL ve YDS'de en sık hata yapılan konulardan biridir; çünkü çoğu zaman edat seçimi "mantıktan" değil, o kalıba özgü yerleşik kullanımdan (collocation) kaynaklanır. Bu derste yer, zaman, yön edatlarını ve fiil/sıfat/isimle birlikte sabitlenmiş edat kalıplarını özgün örneklerle ele alıyoruz.
1. Yer Edatları (Prepositions of Place)
Yer bildiren edatlar, bir varlığın başka bir varlığa göre konumunu anlatır. Aşağıdaki tablo en sık karışan yer edatlarını özetler.

Zaman edatları, bir olayın ne zaman gerçekleştiğini ya da ne kadar sürdüğünü belirtir. Genel eğilim: geniş zaman dilimleri için in, günler ve tarihler için on, kesin saatler için at kullanılır.
