Abstract

Scientific studies on the use of shipping containers in architecture consist of the structural framework of the containers, their prefabricated modular features according to the architectural plan and engineering design. This study, which aims to draw attention to the container architecture, which is an innovative example of today's and future design, includes proposal projects that show how differently the shell and interior can be shaped according to need and function. A group of students were asked to design a container that could sustain living and sales functions together within the scope of the project course. All students completed their designs within the framework of their own user identities, using a container of the same type and size. Four different designs emerged in line with the goals, and these projects were analyzed within the scope of the study.
